About Milton

Our Founder and Manager, Milton Carl Jackson II, is a graduate of American University with a Masters of Business Administration in Business Studies, as well as the University of California, Davis with a Double Bachelor’s of Arts in Ethnomusicology, History and Theory and African-American & African Studies. While Major K Music has been his sole focus for the last five years, Milton currently performs, plays and teaches as a session guitarist, vocalist, and pianist locally in the Inland Empire, Orange County, and Los Angeles areas.

Milton is also a classically-trained bass-baritone with a three-octave range, performing under his stage name, Major K.

About Major K Music

Major K Music was created when — after teaching private lessons for a few years — Milton noticed something lacking in the way students were learning and approaching music learning. The lesson books and the homework were not enough; student input, interest and a holistic approach to learning, playing and performing were necessary components to the aptitude and retention of the musical language, musicianship and enjoyment. It is with that in mind the Three Tenets of Music Learning was born — Learn. Play. Perform.

To Learn is to recognize and utilize the theory and musicianship of one’s chosen instrument.

To Play is to recognize and galvanize the method of playing that instrument to suit every student's desired genre and style.

To Perform is to recognize and magnify the upgrade of their stage and performance skills to showcase their talents.
